Just Chillin…

Hey folks

No proper blog post this week as it’s Easter/bank holiday/Royal Wedding week and I’m off spending time with the wonderful family and friends God has placed in my life. There’ll be more words in the weeks to come – lots!!!! But this week I’m enjoying the sun and seeing where the road takes me. Hope you do the same xx

Torn

Mark 15:38: “Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”

That which symbolized separation and unworthiness. You tore it.

From top to bottom.

You initiated the whole thing. We tried to pull at the threads at the bottom but we were completely unable to do what was required.

But it could only be torn because your Son was torn.

His flesh-ripped.
Hair pulled from his face.

Your tearing brings my wholeness.

Yet it’s ironic how they were not willing to tear his outer garment. They ploughed his skin but cast lots for his coat.

This world and its value system I’ll never understand.

You allowed yourself to be torn from your Son so you could be joined with us.

Your love I will never understand.

Heb 10:19-20: “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh.”

The Fall

I let go
And descend
I feel
Shame
Confusion
Anger
Frustration
I’ve fallen from grace yet again

But I open my eyes
And all around
I see
Hope
Mercy
Restoration
Love

Then I realise
I haven’t fallen from grace
I’ve fallen into it

When is the last time you fell into grace?

This Land

This land has know the plough
The cutting of hard ground
The removal of rocks and stones
The pulling up of alien weeds

This land has known the seed
The growing down of roots
The hope of fruit
The promised future will soon manifest

But the rain…

It has been so long
This land is dry
This land is thirsty
This land is hungry

The plough and the seed have been necessary
Rain cannot fall on hard, empty ground

But seed needs more than good soil
It needs something from above
